July 31 to August 2 was a busy and productive time for CPBC Board Members who attended the Chambers Forum and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Congress at the Convention Centre Darling Harbour.
The Chamber Forum brought together representatives of Chambers from all over NSW as well as interstate; representatives from the ACCI and international Chambers of Commerce also attended. (more…)

Wonderful news for our local community. Burwood Council awarded the Chamber’s Community Group T.A.G. a grant for $2000 towards the installation of a mural dedicated to the honour of Barbara Holborow.
As our first Citizen of the Year, and life-time resident of Croydon Park, Barbara was committed to local issues, and spoke out frequently when it was needed. Did you know that the right hand turn arrow installed at the intersection of Brighton Ave and Georges River Rd was due to Barbara’s efforts in writing to councillors, MPs and the RTA?
CPBC recognised the value of this great woman and asked if she would head a community group, which she took on with gusto, and aptly named it The Action Group (T.A.G.). In Barbara’s mind, action was all that matters! (more…)
